The Lagos State government has kept mum over another building collapse involving a 2-storey building in Osapa London barely 24 hours after the collapse of a 21-storey building on Gerrard Road, Ikoyi.

This was confirmed as efforts to get the reaction of the Commissioner for Information, Mr Gbenga Omotosho, were abortive, as he didn’t respond to both calls and text messages sent by our analyst.

Report has it that a two-storey building caved in, at Osapa London, in the Lekki area of Lagos State on Tuesday.

What an eyewitness said of the collapse

On Twitter, a witness stated, “The building which was under construction caved in after the downpour of Monday night.
This comes barely 24 hours after a 21-storey building collapsed in the Ikoyi area of the state.”

The photo of the building was shared on Twitter by @SkyGospelNewsT1 with the message: “Another building collapses in Osapa London in the Lekki area of Lagos.”

In case you missed it

The South-West Coordinator of the National Emergency Management Agency, Ibrahim Farinloye, had said a total of 20 bodies, including that of Osibona’s personal assistant, had been recovered from the site of the construction mishap at Gerrard Road, Ikoyi.

The state Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu, also confirmed that 20 corpses had been recovered. Nine people were said to have been rescued alive.
